Why do African Americans now glorify ignorance?

What is going on with African Americans? How did all this recent attraction to the ghetto lifestyle become so catchy? What have happened to the minds of Black Americans? Twenty years ago the majority of African Americans were focusing on making it and moving forward. Today the majority of AAs are caught up with nonsense and things that is keeping them down. This current stupid trend is very serious and I wonder why they can't see it. Glorifying the ghetto lifestyle, crime, dangerous and unhealthy , and stupidity is not the legacy of Black people. Black Americans have always been more dignified and conscious in the past. Black people took pride in themselves. They encouraged their children to excel even if they didn't. When did things change? What happened to an entire race of people?
