How does the NSA listening in on your conversations violate your freedom?

Because the government NEVER abuses its authority. That's why our forefathers created a system of checks and balances and the Bill of Rights - because we have nothing to fear from government. The government always does what is in your best interests so we don't need rights or checks and balances. Just tear up the Constitution and put your trust that they will do the right thing. Good luck.
