Does anyone think the universe is a bit odd?

Like, why isn't there just a vacuum? Why is there even such a thing as a vacuum? I don't understand the nihilism point of view that everything is just random, when if it were, what would create randomness. I am not a physicist by any means, I just think that the current objective look on science is a bit off, though it does make sense for what humans think. Anyway, I don't mean to offend anyone (I don't think I did but you never know), I would appreciate your two cents on the subject.
